Our Story

Connecting Classroom Skills to Real-World Businesses!

Sawdust and Smiles is a company built by the Rock Springs High School Wood-shop students in collaboration with the Business and Computer Science Departments. Our mission is to have students use skills they learn in the classroom and apply them to a real business.

The program is cross-curricular, meeting standards in College and Career Readiness, Construction, Business Management, Accounting, and Website Design. All boards are built by students in the woodshop, the invoices, and booking is run and tracked by students in Accounting II, and the website is developed and maintained by students in Website Design.

All proceeds go to funding the Rock Springs High School Woodshop, Business, and Computer Science Departments. Sawdust 'N Smiles is licensed through the UW crafting license program.
